Boating Safety Course

Boating is a popular pastime in Pittsburgh, with thousands of residents and visitors enjoying the city's rivers each year. However, before setting out on the water, it's important to understand the requirements for operating a boat on our three rivers. In Pennsylvania, you are required to have a boating safety education certificate if you were born on or after January 1, 1982 in order to operate our pontoons.

Our boats are equipped with certain safety equipment, such as personal flotation devices (PFDs) and visual distress signals. If this is your first time renting with Pittsburgh Boat Rental, we suggest that you show up to your appointment 5 to 10 minutes early so that we can go over the safety requirements. It's also important to note that all boating laws and regulations must be followed while on the water.
This includes obeying speed limits, following right-of-way rules, and not operating a boat under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Violations of boating laws can result in fines and penalties. Boating in Pennsylvania can be a fun and enjoyable experience, but it's important to understand the requirements for operating a boat to ensure a safe and enjoyable time on the water.
